Electric Truck Tarps Drive System
A sealed 12 V electric motor with shield, is
attached to aluminum
pivot arm is used to
rotate the roll-tube to open and close the tarp
assembly. The electric truck
tarp system can be operated with the
hoist up or down. The motor will not rotate shaft when it
is deactivated
therefore holding the tarp tight
using the gear
inside the motor.
No more struggling with awkward cranks. The grain
box is totally
accessible thru the tailgate with the
cover in the closed position.

The end caps/hoods are manufactured
from .081 aluminum so they are light and rust proof. The rear
end cap/hood is removable so farmers can detach it easily to haul
water tanks or do other farm chores and is designed to allow easy
clean out of box by allowing the tailgate to swing completely open.
A 1½ “ wind deflector on front end cap/hood prevents wind from
getting under the tarp fabric.
The cross members/hoops are made of
1" galvanized pipe bent to shape. The galvanization prevents
rust and the bow shape allows bigger loads. Hoops are removable to
accommodate water tanks, bales etc.

Optional
Quick Release tarp stops are available in 3” or 6” offset to allow
for easy tarp removal. Pulling a pin on each unit releases the
tube that holds the tarp to the side of the grain body.
Tension Control is
applied to front
and rear of tarp using extension springs and beveled pulleys. The
pulley is beveled to compensate for the roll size of the fabric as
it opens and closes to maintain a constant and uniform pressure to
keep tarp rolling evenly. A two inch specially designed aluminum
locking flange holds the roll tube in place to prevent the tarp blowing off.
Set screws on beveled pulleys allow for easy cable adjustment by
rotating the pulley on the roll tube.

Fabric
The tarp fabric is a
19 oz. polyester scrim, coated with Canadian made P.V.C. The edges are
doubled over creating reinforced edges. The tarp
material has heat welded seams to prevent leakage and a centre stiffener rod sewn
into the tarp for added support.
